Training | HubSpot | How to Make a Property Editable

Purpose

This training explains how to make a property editable in HubSpot.
Learners will understand how to navigate HubSpot settings, locate a property, and manage access permissions so that only the correct users or teams can view or edit it.
This ensures data integrity and proper control of CRM information.


Training Content

  1. In HubSpot, go to Settings (gear icon in the top navigation bar).

  2. In the left sidebar, find the Objects section.

  3. Select the object whose property you want to edit (for example, Contacts).

  4. You can either:

    • Click Contacts → Manage Contact Properties, or

    • Click Properties and then select the desired object from the dropdown.

  5. Use the search bar to find the property you want to edit.

  6. Click on the property name to open its details.

  7. Click Manage Access.

  8. In the Manage Access window, set permission levels as needed:

    • Everyone can view and edit (default), or

    • Restrict access by user or team.

  9. To assign limited access:

    • Select a team (e.g., Marketing Team) and set to View Only.

    • Assign individual users specific permissions such as View and Edit.

  10. Review the permission settings to confirm that only appropriate users can edit the property.
