SOP | HubSpot | How to Edit Record Creation Forms
Purpose & Overview
This SOP explains how to edit record creation forms in HubSpot. It guides users through the steps to access and modify the form fields that appear when creating new records, such as contacts. Following this SOP ensures users can customize the record creation experience for their team’s needs.
Step-by-Step Instructions

Navigate to the object you want to edit (e.g., Contacts).

Click the big orange “Create contact” button.

In the top-right corner of the form window, click “Edit this form.”

Review the form editor page that opens.

Use the search bar to find specific properties to add.

If you can’t find a property, browse the available list of properties under the Contact object.

To add a property, check the checkbox next to it.

The selected property will be added to the bottom of the form.

To reorder, drag and move the property up or down as needed.

To delete a property, hover over it and click “Remove.”

Note: The top three fields in the form cannot be moved.

Save your changes once the form is complete.

Troubleshooting & FAQs
Q: Why can’t I find certain properties in the list?
A: You can only add properties that belong to the same object type (e.g., contact properties when editing a contact form).
Q: Why can’t I move some fields?
A: The top three form fields are fixed by HubSpot and cannot be reordered.
